This piece draws from the flavours and memories of childhood, where patterns and colours evoke a sensory response that transports the artist—and the viewer—back to Grandma’s freezer or the local grocer, where sweets could be bought with quarters. Rooted in the vibrant summers of the 1970s, Sherbert captures the carefree essence of childhood—Sweet Tarts, bubble gum, lakeside swims in Wisconsin, and playful days with cousins. These sculpted drawings combine vivid, tangy colour palettes with a sense of tactile joy, offering a poignant tribute to the innocence and wonder of youth before its inevitable loss.
