Pink Oval was started in 2019 at the time Yellow Circle was in progress and is a companion to that work as they are both the same size and from the same period of change for the artist. Here, her experimental approach evolved into a meditative process, defined by the repetitive use of colour and line. The work began with a single, off-centre pink oval shape that was imperfectly drawn as a starting point with lines radiating outward.
This piece takes on geological qualities looking like a slice of agate or other type of mineral. Having gone through the growing pains of the development of Yellow Circle, this artwork was completed in 2020.
