Among the inaugural works in Laura Waldusky's sculpted drawing collection, Fault Line 7 garnered the Illustration and Drawing award at the Visual Art Open 2023. This series redefines the conventional drawing, moving beyond flat, square-edged paper to introduce depth and fluid form. Employing wet folding techniques inspired by Japanese origami, Waldusky transforms each piece into a dimensional work that can either hang freely or be displayed encased, depending on the viewer's experience. Unbound by orientation, Fault Line 7 features an earthy color palette, enhancing its natural, organic quality.
